Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using Freehold (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service. The Service is provided by iCentric Systems Ltd, trading as Harbour SW Developments ("we", "us", "Freehold").

2. Your account

You're responsible for keeping your account credentials safe and for everything that happens under your account. Let us know promptly if you suspect unauthorised access. You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.

3. Subscription & billing

The Service offers a Free tier and paid tiers (Standard, Pro, and a separate Agency product for letting agents). Paid tiers are billed monthly via our payment processor, Stripe, until you cancel. Indicative pricing shown before launch may change; we will give existing subscribers at least 30 days' notice of any price change.

Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period. We don't refund unused portions of a paid period except where required by law. Account-level cancellation is self-service from Account → Subscription.

4. Acceptable use

Don't use Freehold to break the law, infringe others' rights, store content you don't have the right to store, or interfere with the operation of the Service (including by reverse engineering, scraping at unreasonable volumes, or attempting to bypass billing). We may suspend or terminate accounts that do.

5. Your content & data

You retain ownership of everything you put into Freehold — property details, transactions, tenancy records, uploaded receipts and documents. You grant us the permissions needed to store and display it back to you and any users you invite into your account. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle personal data.

6. Intellectual property

The Freehold software, brand, design and documentation are owned by iCentric Systems Ltd and protected by copyright and trademark law. These Terms don't transfer any of that to you; they only let you use the Service.

7. Liability

The Service is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, we exclude implied warranties, and our total liability for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death, personal injury or fraud.

Freehold is a tracking tool, not a tax-advice or financial-advice service. We make no warranty that figures generated by the Service are suitable for any specific regulatory or tax filing — verify with your accountant.

8. Termination

You may delete your account at any time via /delete-account; doing so wipes your data on our side except where retention is required by law (e.g. tax records). We may terminate or suspend access for breach of these Terms or where we are required to do so by law.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms occasionally. Material changes will be flagged in-app or by email; the "Effective" date at the top of this page tracks the current version.

10. Governing law & contact

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
